For over 100 years this stately mansion has set on a hill overlooking historic Front Royal. The sunsets from the portico are the same view that Union troops saw as they camped on this hillside making certain that General Robert E. Lee’s forces continued their retreat from Gettysburg. It was in Front Royal that brother fought against brother and Belle Boyd based her Civil War espionage activities.
